Fashion director Vena Brykalin has been promoted to editor-in-chief of Vogue Ukraine, according to a post on Instagram. ”I feel blessed, honored and privileged,” Brykalin said in the post on Thursday.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last Febraury, Brykalin has worked on initiatives to raise awareness and help support Ukrainian creatives during the crisis. In Paris, he helped set up Tripolar, a temporary concept store and exhibition selling art and fashion by Ukrainian creators.
This year, following a hiatus due to the war, Vogue Ukraine returned to print with with a special commemorative issue titled “The Road of Unbreakable.” The magazine aims to publish a quarterly issue going forward.
