Just as I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms, the ‘Barbie’ promo tour rolled into Naucalpan de Juárez, Mexico on Thursday (July 6) with Margot Robbie returning to the pink carpet.
If you’re over the pink looks already, you might want to skip the rest of this promo tour, because every city deserves to get the full Barbie experience, and that includes a pink dress.
For the Seoul premiere, Margot’s gave us ‘80s Barbie, while Mexico got ‘90s Barbie, even though this is feeling pretty ‘80s to me.
Andrew Mukamal’s inspiration for this look was the 1992 Earring Magic Barbie.
Olivier Rousteing of Balmain created a leather and mesh mini dress which paid the perfect homage, along with silver jewels – including a pair of star and heart pendant earrings and chain linked belt – which completed the look along with matching pink Manolo Blahnik pumps.
Earring Magic Barbie is a bit spicy and has a lot more sass than Day to Night Barbie, which makes this promo tour so fun to follow.
The colour might be the same, but the inspiration and looks couldn’t be more different.
