Margot Robbie attended her final photocall for ‘Barbie’ in London today (July 13), before the SAG-AFTRA strike began.
Berlin, Paris and New York will sadly not get a chance to see the Australian actress promote this film in their cities.
On the one hand I’m selfishly disappointed that this promo tour has ended abruptly, but on the other, I’m so incredibly grateful for the joy and excitement this tour has given us over the last two weeks.
Thank God they started the promo tour early. No doubt the studio knew this strike was coming down the pipeline.
And if you’re thinking that we will get to see her remaining promo tour looks anyway, as Andrew Mukamal and Margot can do the rest of the tour virtually.
Unfortunately, not. This would be considered promotion for the film, which is forbidden under the terms of this strike.
None of the actors or actresses can promote their films or TV shows in any capacity.
Margot’s last act was another Vivienne Westwood look.
I love how the exaggerated puff sleeves on her Vivienne Westwood Gexi Spencer jacket are true testament to the Westwood aesthetic, in being a contemporary rendition of a classic style, which was styled with a corseted mini skirt.
Margot’s last pretty pink look was styled with fun fur accessories, which gave this look plenty of character.
Hopefully this strike will come to a peaceful conclusion where the desired outcome is achieved, as Venice Film Festival is due to start in one month, two weeks and two days, where Zendaya’s ‘Challengers’ was due to open the festival.
