Leave it to Emily Ratajkowski to show us how schoolgirl chic is really done. The model stepped out in a look that, while reminiscent of a uniform, would certainly rack up a detention for violating the dress code.
EmRata wore an ash gray set from downtown darling Sandy Liang, which eagle-eyed fans may recognize as the opening look of her spring 2023 collection, and one that has helped define her image as a designer. The $285 scoop-neck bra features ribbons that hang down the back—one of Liang’s sartorial signatures—and is made of a heavy polyester that is more commonly found in suits, which lends to the bra’s structure. Ratajkowski stayed faithful to the look, pairing the bra with its companion: a low-waist knee-length pleated midi skirt with belt loops across the waistband, which costs $565. (The bra and skirt combo is also beloved by Olivia Rodrigo, who wore a red iteration for her VMAs performance.)
Liang sent her model down the runway with sheer black knee socks and a pair of Salomons. But EmRata decided to put her own spin on the styling. Over her bra top, she wore one of her recent faves, a leather bomber jacket, and carried a black Miu Miu Wander bag. She wore a pair of calf-high gym socks with gray and navy stripes, which she paired with black Puma Palermos. And, perhaps the ultimate cool-girl accessories, she wore a pair of small sunglasses and carried an iced coffee. We’re certainly taking notes.
