Greta Gerwig attended the 2023 AFI Fest screening of ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure’ held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Thursday (October 26) in Hollywood, California.
I was one of the biggest supporters of the PJ trend, but in Greta’s case, I believe she decided to wear this red Gucci GG devoré-velvet shirt and matching trousers as a comfort over style or trend option.
When this trend was initially popular, I loved how celebrities looked like they were wearing PJs, but the styling elevated the sets to give the looks a red carpet or street style worthy edge – although many of you will disagree.
Greta’s outing would have felt less like she had rolled out of bed and onto the red carpet, if she styled the look like the model with a top underneath.
Thoughts? Did it have potential, or was it doomed from the start?
