Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, it feels like Christmas has come early with the premieres coming thick and fast.
As much as I enjoy the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, and the LACMA Art + Film Gala, I’m happiest with promo tours.
Especially one with Carey Mulligan, whose style is a bit of an anomaly.
We tend to assume that she only does understated, and muted, but then she will step onto the red carpet like she did last night for the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Saltburn,’ and remind us all that she loves a bit of sparkle.
But in this case, I’m not sure what to admire first when it comes to her Balmain Fall 2023 look.
The smoothness of the tuxedo-inspired strapless velvet jacket which boasts a deconstructed silhouette.
Or the decadent nature of the embellished skirt which adds an elevated finish to the look.
Carey’s return to the red carpet couldn’t be more perfect.
I wouldn’t have expected her to have worn the runway shoes, but it would have been interesting/shocking if she had.
Manolo Blahnik pumps and Anita Ko jewels provided the finishing touches.
