We have covered all the ladies, so here is our roundup of the men who graced the red carpet for the 2023 GQ Men Of The Year Awards on Wednesday (November 15) in London.
Is Ncuti Gatwa’s LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi overcoat, the overcoat to end all others?
I think so.
This tailored wool-blend coat is a homage to timeless style codes with the vintage shoulder pads and peak lapels. But that doesn’t mean it forgoes a touch of modernity.
I am a huge fan of Paapa Essiedu’s red carpet looks, and this Louis Vuitton Fall 2023 suit is worthy of a man with his sartorial style.
I love how the collarless style and oversized fit is serving to de-formalise the overall effect.
The neutral shades just add to my affections.
As does Oliver Jackson Cohen’s AMI Paris suit, which was styled with a very impressive overcoat.
Joe Alwyn wore a look from Celine Homme with a black leather Caban jacket adding a ruggedness to the British actor’s usual polished style, which was upheld with the satin black tie.
Following his first outing in Saint Laurent, Fionn O’Shea opted to keep the trousers, but switch up the top half of his look with a sheer polka dot top from the Spring 2024 collection.
Those of you who have been saying that the sheer trend should be equal in menswear, should be happy to see Fionn doing his bit.
While there has been a marked improvement in Tom Daly’s red carpet style, I do wish he had swapped out these animal print shoes for something more complementary for his Dior Spring 2024 suit.
It’s not every day you see a green striped suit, but Asa Butterfield looked crisp and fresh in this contemporary look styled with Boucheron jewels.
I feel like I have seen this Saint Laurent silk shirt and black suit a few times on Anson Boon, but this iteration features velvet, so all is forgiven.
Saint Laurent XIV 70 zipped boots and a white silk pocket square added to the distinguished nature of the look.
Andrew Scott went against the grain wearing a cream Valentino suit with a rose-pink shirt which would have worked better for me for a summer soirée.
When I saw ‘The Crown’s’ Ed McVey (who plays Prince William) in this AMI Paris suit, I thought, if Brad Pitt ever needs someone to play a younger version of him in a film, Ed should step up.
I was surprised by the length of the trousers on Michael Ward’s suit, especially considering it is from BOSS.
‘Bridgerton’ star Luke Newton fared much better in his chocolate BOSS suit, in terms of fit, colour and style. This feels a lot more of the moment.
Everton footballer Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one of the few footballers who has impeccable style, and he proved it again when he stepped onto the red carpet for this event wearing a Wales Bonner Fall 2023 wool Historie coat accompanied by the Compass Brooch we saw on the runway, which adds to the heritage feel of the look.
I love how this could be from a bygone era yet feels so modern at the same time.
