Janelle Monáe made a guest appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ last week, where she talked about how honoured she was to have collaborated with Grace Jones and the late Prince and what it was like to work with Nia Long after having a crush on the actress while growing up.
It is safe to say that red has entered the chat as one of Janelle’s favourite colours alongside her signature black and white.
In recent times, red has been her go to for The Hollywood Reporter Beauty Dinner and the 2023 NAACP Image Awards.
On this occasion she was blooming floral appliques thanks to her Mara Hoffman Luna dress which feels inspired by the dance between the matador and the flamenco dancer.
Along with the colour, I love how the sculptural rosettes covering the front bodice and sleeves inject the brand’s playful DNA.
