Scream queen Jenna Ortega seems to have (at least temporarily) ditched her signature all-black Wednesday Addams look. In fact, at the Finestkind premiere on December 12, the famously spooky dresser looked downright angelic in a lacy white minidress by the Japanese American brand Adeam.
The frock clearly took inspiration from several sources, in addition to the heavens. It’s a structured blazer dress, with sharp padded shoulders and crisp lapels, but the sheer white lace and corset-like boning are more reminiscent of bridal lingerie. If #girlboss were a dress—minus the negative connotations—this would be that dress.
Ortega’s styling, with her silver collar necklace and romantic ponytail, helped emphasize the business-girlie vibes. She added a pair of drop earrings and a couple of rings, while her white extreme platform Mary Janes rounded out the whole look.
It’s been a minute since we’ve seen the Wednesday actor wear anything that wasn’t at least a little goth-inspired. “I do think that Wednesday changed my taste a lot,” she said in a March interview with InStyle. “I have a hard time getting her off of me, at least clothingwise.”
Do we think Jenna Ortega has entered a whole new, lighter and less spooky era? Because I kind of doubt it.
