The 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala was held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles Sunday (December 3), where Nicolas Ghesquière dressed seventeen celebrities in Louis Vuitton.
I always have to start a Louis Vuitton roundup post with Jennifer Connelly, because let’s face it. Officially or unofficially, she is the number one LV girl.
And seeing how amazing she looks in the striped embellished Louis Vuitton gown, which was oozing such a strong futuristic, modern presence, will answer any “why?” questions you might have.
The effortlessness that always gets me.
The same is not usually said for the Haim girls, as they tend to select the most OTT Louis Vuitton looks that read “trying too hard.”
So, I was shocked, stunned even, to see Este, Alana, Danielle Haim, serve up quiet sultry elegance in their illusion insert gowns.
Is this the best the trio have ever looked? I would have to say yes. I never knew they had this in them. What a delightful surprise.
Speaking of surprises, Alicia Vikander might be inspiring Nicolas Ghesquière to come out with a whole new collection for a certain group of women.
I think I would have been more sold on Ava DuVernay’s Louis Vuitton look, had the dress been gold as well.
The cape is stunning.
Chloë Grace Moretz tends to stick to Louis Vuitton’s tailoring, so I was excited to see her rock this leather gown.
The oversized belt is very much a LV signature, but I think a thinner one would’ve been more flattering for Chloë.
Colman Domingo should really change his name to DJ Khaled, because he served up another (one) look worthy of so much praise.
Only Eddie Redmayne could challenge Colman in terms of consistency on the red carpet.
Even those of you who don’t like logos will love this look, I’m sure of it.
We haven’t seen nearly enough of the Deepika Padukone x Louis Vuitton relationship flourish on the red carpet.
But the Bollywood star proved that Louis Vuitton can give us classic, ultra-glamorous moments in this rich eggplant hued one-shoulder gown.
I love how the simplicity of the styling elevated the look.
When it comes to Gemma Chan’s Louis Vuitton gown I kinda want to be more excited about it than I actually am.
Ultimately, I prefer the bottom half over the top half.
I would’ve loved to have seen Jurnee Smollett given a Jennifer Connelly-esque gown. This is reading a little matronly for something of her style presence.
They need to step it up for her, because this isn’t the first time I have been underwhelmed by a Louis Vuitton look she has worn.
Remove that sheer overlay, remove those tiers and we have a much better gown for the actress.
Michelle Williams is still on a roll, and I can’t get enough of it. This time last year, she wouldn’t have worn this gown.
I don’t know what happened with regards to her stylist over during the writers’ strike, but it is paying dividends for the actress.
Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly. What a stylish duo. I hope Jennifer didn’t cut herself standing so close to this sharp Louis Vuitton suit.
Honestly, I would’ve preferred Phoebe Dynevor’s Louis Vuitton look without the embellished scarf. It adds nothing to the dress.
Sandra Hüller was introduced to us this year thanks to Louis Vuitton, so I was so happy to see her attend as a guest of the fashion house.
She served up some amazing looks during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, but this electric blue embroidered Louis Vuitton strapless gown is her best look this year.
It took me a while to realise that it’s not Sandra Oh’s Louis Vuitton dress that I object to. It’s the hair and makeup.
Considering the many Louis Vuitton gowns we saw on this red carpet for Louis Vuitton, Saoirse Ronan’s look was probably the most direction, and most LV of this roundup.
I was going to say that I was shocked and that I would have expected this from Jurnee, but I have to put some respect on Saoirse’s name, because I was then reminded that the Irish actress is quite bold when it comes to her style choices also.
My top 5 are: Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan, Michelle Williams, Deepika Padukone, and Sandra Hüller.
