Penelope Cruz was in London this week, where she was promoting her new film ‘Ferrari’ for the first time, after Patrick Dempsey and Adam Driver held the forte during Venice Film Festival.
For the photocall, things were very much expected, as the Spanish actress wore a Chanel Spring 2022 Haute Couture dress.
Fusing the labels sophisticated essence and affinity classic tweed construction, the styling – as expected – was a little lacklustre.
When I saw Penelope at the premiere, my thought was bring back 2023 Quarter One Penelope Cruz, because that Penelope was firing on all cylinders during awards season.
Quarter Four Penelope doesn’t have that same essence, nor the same joie de vivre style wise.
This film is about a sexy red car, and while I wasn’t expecting an Atelier Versace corset red mesh metal gown (I was in my dreams), I was expecting something a little less aging.
I don’t think this Chanel Spring 2022 Haute Couture gown is doing anything for her.
I will stand by what I said before. It’s not about Chanel, it’s about the dresses that are being pulled for Penelope.
