Ali Krieger is doing just fine, thankyouverymuch. Better than fine, actually. Three months after her highly public split from ex-wife Ashlyn Harris, the now-retired soccer star told E! News, “I have never felt more happy and more free, so I feel excited for the future.”
Back in October, the news broke that not only were Krieger and Harris divorcing, but that Harris was reportedly dating One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush, who was then in the midst of her own public divorce. At the time, Krieger cheekily posted, “in my Beyoncé lemonade era,” in an Instagram caption—which was widely interpreted as a reference to possible infidelity, or at least shady behavior, in her marriage. (However, Harris denied cheating allegations in her own Instagram post on November 19, writing, in part, “I was always faithful in my marriage, if not always totally happy.”)

But Krieger is putting all of that behind her now, including the US Women’s National Team, and is ready to focus on coparenting her two kids. “I’m excited to discover new passions,” she told E! in a red carpet interview on January 16. “I’m excited to spend more time with my kids first and foremost and to be able to go visit family and friends whenever I want.”
Ali Krieger said she hopes to spend more time on herself in retirement. “I want to continue healing and I continue to have a deeper relationship with myself and discover myself a little bit deeper on that type of level,” she explained.
