Virginie Viard dressed three celebrities in Chanel Haute Couture for the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday.
You may feel like you recognise Julianne Moore’s Chanel Haute Couture plum sheath dress, or feel a sense of familiarity, because it may remind you of Emma Watson’s Chanel dress worn to the ‘Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix’ London premiere back in 2007.
The shared elements in fabric and jeweled details create a sense of familiarity.
However, this dress is from the Chanel Fall 2020 Haute Couture collection, which may surprise some because Julianne’s dress has an early ‘00s feel to it, so I’m guessing that is the vibe Virginie Viard and Kate Young were going for with this look.
Unfortunately, the look didn’t translate onto the red carpet for me, especially considering Julianne’s run so far this awards season.

It seems like there might be a shift in Camila Morrone’s signature colour choices for 2024.
Traditionally known for favoring only black for the red carpet, she has only worn one black look out of three this year.
This Chanel Spring 2022 Haute Couture chiffon top and pleated tips balance even though her all-black moments were not perceived as repetitive.
Embracing different colours can certainly bring a new fresh dynamic to her red carpet outings.

Bel Powley made me reminisce about the playful and distinctive Chanel looks associated with Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevigny wearing this fun Chanel Spring 2023 Haute Couture look.
Some might find his tweed jacket with puffed sleeves and a short corolla skirt embellished with tulle and cigaline flowers a bit costumey, especially considering the bow tie, but I have missed this playful side from Chanel, even if I do wish Bel had opted for Diane’s famous Chanel bow pumps instead of the tie.
