For the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, Colman Domingo, your best dressed man from last week, turned things up a notch showcasing a departure from the conventional black suit he wore at the Golden Globes.
The ‘Rustin’ actor wore a mustard hued Valentino Fall 2023 Haute Couture suit from the Un Chateau collection, which was already a step into “something new” territory for the colour alone, but gold textured coat took this into “never been seen before” territory.
The colours are truly mesmerising, especially considering he styled his look the most perfect pair of gold calf leather Christian Louboutin William boots, solidifying his status as having the best shoe game this awards season, but I have a feeling the coat might be a deal breaker for some.
The coat has a Kings of Swag Only aura. So, I only see three people pulling it off.
Colman, Lewis Hamilton and Lakeith Stanfield.
An OMEGA De Ville Tresor timepiece completed his look with along with Bulgari’s Divas’ Dream necklace in 18 kt rose gold which he paired with Divas’ Dream stud earrings with mother-of-pearl inserts and pavé diamonds, and multiple B.zero1 rings in yellow gold and rose gold.
So, what’s the verdict?
- With the coat: Acknowledging the bold and unique fashion statement.
- Without the coat: Appreciating the suit and boots combination on its own.
- All of the above: Embracing the full look, including the coat, boots, and accessories.
Stylists: Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald.
