Lily Gladstone attended the Virtuosos Awards ceremony during the 2024 Santa Barbara International Film Festival this week as an honouree.
The ‘Killers of the Moon’ actress has been supporting Indigenous designers since she stepped into the spotlight during Cannes Film Festival – remember those earrings?
Lily went from bold earrings to something even more spectacular as she collected her Virtuosos Award wearing a Jontay Kahm custom duck feathered top.
Jontay made his debut only last year, and their 17-piece BFA graduate collection combines duck and turkey feathers in innovative ways to pay homage to their traditional Native dress using traditional haute couture techniques.
This custom piece is the first avant-garde look had seen from Lily. Some of us were worried that awards season would conclude without much fanfare from Lily. How wrong we were.
This look and her Christian Siriano blue gown are her top two. Hopefully we will get a top four with the SAG Awards and Oscars still to come.
Sadly, Lily was snubbed for a BAFTA.

Speaking of the Oscars, the actress brought the statement earrings back for the Oscars Nominees Luncheon where she wore a Gabriela Hearst Spring 2023 ivory suit.
There are times when we wish that a stylist had taken inspiration from the runway.
In this case, I wish they hadn’t, because those trousers needed taking up an inch or two.
The earrings were a beautiful finishing touch to the suit complementing the gold and ivory colour way.
