Celebrating the Vogue’s announcement that Zendaya will be co-chairing the ‘Garden of Time’ themed 2024 Met Gala with Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Jennifer Lopez, the actress shutdown the red carpet – like only she can – for the ‘Dune: Part Two’ London premiere this evening.
This is how you show up and show out for a World Premiere.
We saw Beyonce wearing a Casey Cadwallader custom Mugler design during her Renaissance World Tour, but it appears that Zendaya is wearing the original Mugler Fall 1995 Haute Couture Fembot robot-looking suit.
This piece was created by Manfred Thierry Mugler in collaboration with Jean-Jacques Urcun.
The story goes that in the beginning, Mugler was only interested in making a metal bra. But eventually, he created an entire chrome jumpsuit which is reminiscent of the futuristic novel ‘Metropolis.’
You’ll either think this look is too costumey, which I would not argue, as it is an actual costume; think that she is trying too hard, or love how Zendaya will always give us a moment.
She’s done the ‘apocalyptic’ and ‘sand dunes’ styles many times promoting both films, so the only space left was sci-fi, and there isn’t another three-dimensional look that could do this moment justice than this Fembot suit.
I know it won’t be for everyone, but I love how she levelled up to a place where one else would dare.
Styling the look with that Bulgari necklace did make me chuckle. Even in a Fembot suit, she keeps it high fashion.
In case you were wondering what the back looked like.
