On Thursday, April 4, Saks Fashion Director Roopal Patel and Thom Browne hosted a dinner at Beverly Hills hotspot Mr. Chow to celebrate the launch of Thom Browne’s exclusive, California-inspired capsule collection at Saks.
Throughout the evening, guests clad in head-to-toe Thom Browne enjoyed specialty cocktails followed by a three-course meal of signature Mr. Chow dishes including lobster shumai, Beijing chicken and Ma Mignon.
Thom Browne’s capsule collection for Saks celebrates the playful spirit of California, featuring women’s ready-to-wear, shoes and handbags infused with vibrant hues and whimsical twists to iconic silhouettes, in addition to a new tweed that was developed specifically for the collaboration.
In celebration of the launch, Thom Browne has taken over Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills with immersive visual installations and special offerings throughout the store, including a made-to-order animal handbag activation that is available for the first time ever at Saks Fifth Avenue as part of the partnership.
Is there anyone who embodies the Thom Browne woman better than Diane Keaton? Aside from the events co-host Janelle Monáe of course.
Diane is known for her attention to detail when it comes to her suits. Which is why I’m not surprised that everything about this look from the fit to the styling is perfect for the actress.
Roopal Patel was the hostess with the mostest – colour – as she stepped onto the red carpet representing the playful spirit of California that this Saks x Thom Browne’s capsule collection is all about.
When I think of Thom Browne dark hues spring to mind, but this entire look goes a long way to dispelling that notion.
I love Janelle Monáe, but I feel like I have seen this on her a thousand times.
Does she look great? Yes. Of course. And this look stays in her black-and-white bubble.
But as a co-host of this event, she kinda missed what this moment was all about, which was embracing the new vibrant colours.
Andrea Riseborough got the memo as her white Thom Browne tweed suit showcases even though I wasn’t sold on the black bag with this ensemble.
Aurora James joins Roopal in being one of my favourites, because without them, we wouldn’t have got a first hand look at these new colours and prints.
Some might feel this dress is very Erdem-esqe with a Thom Browne coat, but I’m personally excited about something new from Thom Browne, as I have been crying out for this for some time.
Danai Gurira suits up in Thom Browne accented brand identifying the red, white, and blue stripes.
Dree Hemingway also opted for a classic Thom Browne look in shades of grey rather than the colours of this new collection.
