Nicolas Ghesquière has just presented the Louis Vuitton Voyager Women’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection in Shanghai. All you need to know here.
Louis Vuitton’s latest Voyager show took place in Shanghai’s Long Museum — said to be China’s biggest private museum. With the funnel-shaped venue being known for its rich collection of art, it’s only fitting that Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest collection is a collaboration with a maestro in art. The Louis Vuitton Voyager Women’s Pre-Fall 2024 show saw the Maison teaming up with Sun Yitian, a Chinese contemporary artist; renowned for her alluring bestiary elements.
The Louis Vuitton Voyager Women’s Pre-Fall 2024 ensemble alluded to the youth of China — showcasing spunk, joyfulness and colour. There’s a sense of freedom that tied the creations together; intertwining between re-imaginations and the Maison’s highly respected codes. Such was the case with Louis Vuitton’s beloved bags as the runway unveiled the Capucines, the Twist and the Petite Malle among others in new forms.
Models appeared in hues that ranged from bright and poppy to more subdued tones; visible from the likes of the dark green above-the-knee dress with pink bunny to the pearl white puffy dress. It’s a truly enjoyable collection that points to the idea that fashion can still be fun yet nuanced. The collaboration with Sun Yitian also paves the way for more exciting partnerships between luxury fashion houses and ingenious creatives all around the world — opening up new possibilities and one-of-a-kind outcomes.
The much-anticipated event in Shanghai was a continuation of Ghesquière’s tenth-anniversary celebrations and the star-studded guest list enforced that very notion. Long Museum saw some of the biggest names in attendance, including Cate Blanchett, Liu Yifei, Zhou Dongyu, Jackson Wang, Victoria Song, Ouyang Nana, Regina King, Hoyeon, Xu Minghao, Chloë Grace Moretz, Amber Liu, Marina Fois, Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly.
