Tommy and Dee Hilfiger hosted K-pop sensations Stray Kids, and Madelyn Cline at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday, as they are part of the Tommy family having headlined previous campaigns.
As you know, I’m all for boy bands dressing alike, but I was kinda underwhelmed by the Stray Kids when they first stepped onto the red carpet.
Dressed in custom Tommy Hilfiger, the group did present a cohesive Classic American Cool look in keeping with the brand’s signature red, white, and blue colour palette with rich gold accents.
But it turns out that this was just a precursor to the main event….
…because at the top of the Met Gala staircase, in a sleek formation the eight Stray Kids whisked away their bespoke overcoats to reveal their impeccably tailored suiting with Tommy Hilfiger signature details.
This 180 had my head in a spin. I mean, it’s not often that I’m left speechless, but tell me the last time you saw a group where EVERYONE can pass the best dressed test.
Felix is all-white stands out, naturally. And considering I’m not a dark blazer and white trouser kinda girl, I.N is notable here too, along with Lee Know.
While there is an element of “know” when it comes to Tommy Hilfiger menswear, but we have a lot less intel when it comes to the direction of the designer’s womenswear.
Madelyn Cline was a botanical beauty as she glided down the red carpet in this floral embellished gown. The dress might not move you, but the sense of grandeur should.
