We know by now that Jennifer Lawrence, Millennial queen, loves herself a cute little ballet flat for running around the city. Well, turns out she also loves a chic flat shoe when she’s riding around the city.
The Hunger Games actor was spotted on a CitiBike date with her husband, Cooke Maroney, in New York City on June 25. JLaw was dressed in her go-to off-duty uniform, with a simple black tank and baggy jeans, finished with what appears to be a $500 pair of Tory Burch studded ballet flats.

Millennials like JLaw will know that Tory Burch flats were once beyond ubiquitous, easily clock-able thanks to the iconic logo charm on the toe. These shoes, however, are more in line with Lawrence’s quiet luxury vibe, which never screams any particular brand or label. The black leather shoe is covered with small silver discs, giving them a slightly downtown disco ball appearance.
Over the past year or two, Jennifer Lawrence has become the ultimate street style spokeswoman for trendy ballet flats. Some of her greatest hits include a summer-appropriate mesh flat—the better to air out one’s toes in the heat; a pricy black leather slipper flat from The Row, which Lawrence wore to walk her baby around the neighborhood in 2022; a pointed toe version, perfect for a low-key date night at the movies; and, if you’ll allow me to stretch the definition of “ballet flat” slightly, black Vans, which dressed down her dress pants and blazer outfit.
Because who needs arch support when you can find this much variety in such a simple shoe.
