Olaf Hernandez gives Wonderland a behind-the-scenes look at his time attending the Dior Men’s 2025 presentation in Paris.
For the Dior Men’s Summer 2025 collection, Creative Director Kim Jones looked to the profound South African artist Hylton Nel, drawing inspiration from his expansive body of work. Imbedding an element of craftsmanship into elevated workwear silhouettes, the House of Dior presented a glorious example of the power of collaboration between artisans.
And luckily for us, we got an inside look. Chatting with Olaf Hernandez about his expectations and pre-show routines, the star let us in on his time getting ready for the show.
Hi Olaf! How are you doing and how is Paris?
Hi Wonderland! I am great, thank you! Love being in Paris, as it is always fun and full of creative people to meet — and super excited to see Dior Men’s Summer 25 show!
Can you tell us about your look for the Dior Mens Summer 2025 show?
It is a look full of details, starting with the 3D printed sunnies, followed by the wool jacket, and ending with the antique ruthenium-finish brass Dior Charm on the loafers! Love!
What’s your typical pre-show routine?
Definitely a good skincare routine and a tasty meal is a must! I love having extra time to prepare my look and get to the shows not in a rush.
What’s your favourite part of fashion shows/what do you get most excited about?
It might sound weird but I love the moment of applause — that is with a doubt when you realise how much people loved the collection and the show. There is always a specific energy in each finale.
Did you have any expectations going into the show?
I learned that expectations will never help to fully enjoy an experience such as a fashion show. But I am truly convinced Dior will always bring something that will stick in everyone’s minds as done in the past.
Is there a look that stands out to you from the runway?
All of them! Haha but my highlights were the studded bags, the chunky suede boots, and definitely the embroidered collar-hoods.
What makes a show memorable to you?
The music! The connection between the show and the song choices is always so important, and this time it was “Cloudbusting” by Kate Bush! Goosebumps!
