Sabrina Carpenter did three things at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show last night. As videos on Twitter/X revealed, the 25-year-old introduced herself to Central Cee (“Barry [Keoghan] told me to say hi,” she said in greeting). She also played on his Nintendo DS. And she proved to everyone that she can do classic menswear better than most, well… men.
During creative director Pharrell Williams‘ Spring/Summer 2025 runway, the American chart-topper put her own spin on traditional tailoring. Up top, she slipped on a classic shirt and tie combo, and she layered this with an oversized blazer. Featuring an old school double-breasted design, it was decorated with XL lapels which had more than enough real estate for Louis Vuitton’s ultra blingy Dynasty Pearls brooch.
As for footwear, Carpenter jumped into some matching white pumps, and she carried around a little tiny version of Skateboard P’s signature Speedy bag. No matter the size, this is a holy grail item—and one that’s soared once again during the Williams administration at Louis Vuitton.
And while this fit seems kinda different from the rest of her wardrobe, it actually plugs into her personal aesthetic. Since her “Feather” era, Carpenter’s has always gone for a ‘60s vibe. And a big double-breasted jacket like this one is exactly what you would’ve seen on any sunshine pop playboy back in the day.
And Sabrina Carpenter also sits perfectly alongside all the other great women who are doing men’s fashion better. From Katie Holmes and Maggie Gyllenhaal, to Taylor Swift and Zendaya, every dude should be taking notes right now – and bringing their old school Gameboy to big fashion events.
