Blake Lively Promotes 'It Ends with Us' In New York City

Blake Lively, known for her fashion prowess and her ability to seamlessly transition through multiple outfits in a single day, is a press tour legend. Her multi-look New York press tours have set high standards, as seen during the promotion of ‘All I See Is You,’ where she donned seven different looks in one day. She continued this trend with five outfits for ‘A Simple Favor’ and a staggering ten looks over two days for ‘The Age of Adaline’—six on the first day and four on the second.

However, her latest press tour for ‘It Ends with Us’ in New York, where she was accompanied by her co-star Isabela Ferrer today, saw a notable departure from her usual sartorial extravagance. This time, Blake limited herself to just two outfits, a stark contrast to her usual wardrobe marathon.

Her first ensemble was a Dauphinette Heaven Is a Place on Earth gown, featuring a whimsical print which I believe was inspired by the childhood diaries her character, Lily Bloom, reads in the film. The brand named the print ‘light-as-air Bad Girls go to Heaven,’ and it was adorned with a multi-coloured ostrich feather skirt.

While the dress itself was enchanting, as it was when Jessica Williams wore it back in 2022, I can see also see it worn by Lana Del Ray, Griff, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Skai Jackson, Araya A. Hargate, but on Blake, it seemed somewhat out of place.

The Christian Louboutin So Kate Rainbow heels, jewelled belt, and statement earrings, though individually stunning, collectively clashed, with each piece vying for attention.

Blake’s second look kept in line with her character’s profession as a florist with Christian Louboutin Carnaval satin sandals, featuring floral embellishments paired with the floral tiered dress paired with wood bangles and earrings.

Reflecting on Blake’s historical press tour fashion feats, her recent choices for ‘It Ends with Us’ are a little underwhelming.

These two outfits did not quite capture the excitement and creativity we’ve come to expect from Blake Lively. The approach might have been a deliberate pivot, but it left me yearning for the more diverse looks we’ve seen in the past.
