Following the opulent womenswear show, Dolce & Gabbana presented their Alta Sartoria menswear show on Wednesday at the Forte Arena, an open-air theatre at the Forte Village Resort on the idyllic Italian island of Sardinia. The evening was a blend of sartorial elegance and creative flair, demonstrating the brand’s mastery in both menswear and couture.
Theo James epitomised the effortless transition of seasonal trends with his Dolce & Gabbana custom double-breasted suit, proving that the Fall-Spring chocolate trend we saw during awards season can seamlessly adapt to summer months. While his square-toed derby shoes felt a bit heavy, they clearly represented the footwear trend for the label this season.
Halle Bailey continued her winning streak in Dolce & Gabbana, donning yet another custom dress paired with Alta Gioielleria jewels.
Her sheer gown, created with silk satin manipulation and adorned with crystal and pearl beading, exemplified an elegant use of transparency that often divides opinions, but in this case showcased the label’s intricate craftsmanship.
Complementing Bailey’s look, her partner, rapper DDG, wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana embroidered top, creating a harmonious visual duo.
Kitty Spencer’s custom Dolce & Gabbana gown requires a closer look to fully appreciate its detailed embellishments. Adorned with metal sequins, pearls, and brooches, the gown showcases the label’s signature opulence.
Her look was completed with another stunning set of Alta Gioielleria floral diamonds, enhancing her sophisticated appearance.
Lucien Laviscount continued to impress with his selections from the Ostuni Alta Sartoria collection. His silk and linen ensemble stood out for its understated elegance, making it my favourite among his recent looks.
Alessandra Ambrosio opted for yet another rerun, as we have seen this Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2024 ensemble on Billie Piper for the ‘Scoop’ London premiere back in March.
Despite differences in styling, the choice felt repetitive, so I was left wanting something new from the model.
Alejandro Speitzer embodied the modern Dolce & Gabbana man in a white vest, scarf, and black trouser combination which was perfect for a balmy summer evening. His outfit captured the essence of sophisticated summer wear.
Pelayo Díaz’s appearance in another Dolce & Gabbana Chantilly lace look feels like a modern love story, as he continues to embody the romantic yet edgy aesthetic that Dolce & Gabbana excels in.
Maluma’s previous look lacked cohesion, but the neutral tones of this custom Dolce & Gabbana linen suit and taupe squared-toe derby shoes was much more harmonious.
An Alta Gioielleria brooch added a touch more luxury.
Pulled from the Dolce & Gabbana Ostuni Alta Sartoria collection, Choi San’s white suit was a masterclass in relaxed tailoring. I’m obsessed with the way in which his jacket drapes. I want this for myself.
