The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) hosted its 2024 Block Party to raise funds and awareness for youth programs in Africa. The event brought together supporters for an evening of entertainment, community, and philanthropy, highlighting the important work being done by the organization.
There are always two things you can expect from Charlize Theron: a look from Dior and a tailored blazer. Perhaps it should be three, considering her frequent choice of a bralette. Some might feel that this is a bit too risqué for a charity event, but it is Charlize Theron’s party, and she’ll dress as she wants to. Bringing a touch of pizzazz to her look, the jacket was styled with an embellished skirt from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection and classic black J’Adior shoes.
Charlize was joined by fellow South African actress Thuso Mbedu, who wore a Dior Spring 2024 one-shoulder shirt, a popular piece from this collection. She paired it with oversized trousers, which, thanks to her pose, did not appear too large for her. Dior jewelry and a blue denim Dior oblique jacquard Saddle bag completed her look. As always, her makeup was sensational.
Considering the event was held at the Universal Studios Backlot, we should not be surprised to see ‘Twister’ star Daisy Edgar-Jones in attendance, where she returned to the set of her film, donning a distinctive two-piece rust brown ensemble from the Acne Studios Spring 2024 collection. The look particularly fitting given its deconstructed, cracked-texture design which resonated well with the thematic elements of her new film.
Lainey Wilson was the guest performer at the event. While her country-inspired styling with a Stetson hat and western-inspired buckle belt wasn’t surprising, you might be surprised to learn that the country singer was wearing Mônot. The turtleneck cropped top and pleated trousers are a departure from the usual black dress with cut-outs that the label is known for.
Sasha Lane, following her last look from the ‘Twister’ LA premiere, seems to be in her tailored short trouser era. Many were not sold on her Thom Browne look, but I’m sure you will agree that she looked more polished in this Cong Tri Fall 2024 ensemble.
