Following the highly anticipated Monday night premiere of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ Emma Corrin was seen making their way to a studio in New York City for a guest appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ on Tuesday.
Known for their daring and unconventional fashion choices, Emma did not disappoint wearing a custom silk taffeta dress by Freddy Coomes and Matt Empringham.
As an admirer of Emma’s red carpet style, I find myself on the fence with this particular outfit. Here are the pros and cons:
The Pros:
1. Supporting Emerging Talent: Emma’s choice to wear a creation by Freddy Coomes and Matt Empringham highlights their support for graduates of Central Saint Martins.
2. Playful Essence: The dress exudes a playful charm reminiscent of Miu Miu, a label that Emma is frequently associated with. The whimsical design captures a sense of fun and creativity, aligning perfectly with their fashion-forward persona.
3. Perfect for Daytime TV: The dress is an excellent choice for a daytime television appearance. Its vibrant and approachable design makes it digestible for a mainstream audience, who might not be as familiar with Emma’s typically avant-garde style.
4. On-Point Styling: The overall styling of the outfit is impeccable. From the Grenson Camden shoes paired with socks, to the makeup, everything complements the dress beautifully.
The Con:
1. Ventriloquist Doll Vibes: Despite the many positives, my initial reaction to the dress, largely due to the oversized bow, is that they look like a ventriloquist doll, and it’s hard to shake.
Ultimately, Emma continues to leave us guessing. This particular dress, with its mix of playful elegance and slightly offbeat charm, is a testament to their fearless approach to style. While the ventriloquist doll association will linger for me, the overall look is undeniably eye-catching and true to Emma’s unique fashion identity.
What do you think? Does the oversized bow add a whimsical touch, or does it veer too far into puppet territory?
Emma’s sartorial journey is always an exciting one to follow, and this dress is no exception.
