The work of iconic 20th-century photographer Irving Penn will get a major exhibition in Spain later this year, Inditex chairwoman Marta Ortega Perez’s MOP Foundation announced Wednesday.
MOP will bring the Metropolitan Museum’s 2017 retrospective, ‘Irving Penn Centennial,’ to its exhibition space in A Coruña, the Galician province where Zara owner Inditex is headquartered, from November 2024 to May 2025.
Penn is “rightly celebrated for his meticulous approach, his minimalist style, masterful printmaking, and bold artistic experiments,” MOP said. “His work is characterised by a relentless pursuit of perfection and an unerring eye for detail.”
The show follows MOP exhibitions dedicated to Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh and Steven Meisel. The foundation is also sponsoring a Spanish language re-release of the ‘Irving Penn Centennial’ exhibition catalogue collecting over 300 works by the photographer.
