It’s the dog days of July and the New York asphalt has never been hotter. You expect Jennifer Lawrence to wear real pants? With a waistband? Please.

Committed to beating the heat, the Oscar winner stepped out in an oversized white tee and loose cotton drawstring pants, accessorizing with a messy bun, slip-on flip-flops and sunglasses. A true mom-on-the-go, she carried a black tote bag and a paper-in-plastic bag that you get at most food places in the city. She’s got a busy fall ahead of her, with not one but three buzzy projects in the works for Lawrence to both produce and star in.

Me when I pick up food and then look at a window while holding my phone:

REES, ULRA

Jennifer Lawrence friggin loves these sunglasses and wears them all the time.

But if you thought this purse was just some over the shoulder stuff holder you could pick up at any old Gap or Goodwill, see yourself out. It’s an Oversized Nubuck Satchel from Byron Bay–based Australian bag makers St. Agni, and it costs a not-unreasonable $405. Hobo bags are back and you heard it here first. Here’s a better look at it.

Lawrence is a master of the laid-back-but-I’m-rich look, often pairing super casual outfits with trendy pieces. She and her husband, Cooke Maroney, were recently spotted Citi Biking around, with the actor wearing a black tank, loose jeans, and a $500 pair of Tory Burch studded ballet flats. You’d think that between the two of them, they would have also thought to buy a helmet, wear a helmet, you guys have a kid, be safe for goodness sake, but maybe we just need a hot designer to start making headgear before celebrities will embrace it.
