The premiere of Netflix’s ‘The Deliverance’ at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday was a night to remember, not just for the film but also for the bold fashion choices on display.
Andra Day, in particular, made quite the statement with her outfit choice, donning a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2024 dress with a dramatic cape.
Let’s start by addressing the elephant in the room: why did this look have to be so see-through?
For a long time now, I’ve been waiting for a knockout look from Andra—a moment that would capture her unique style and stunning beauty. So when I opened Getty and saw her look, I thought, “This is it.” The dress, with its intricate design and bold silhouette, had all the elements of a show-stopping outfit.
It could have been the moment we’ve all been waiting for, if not for one glaring distraction: the visible pink underwear.
Now, don’t get me wrong—there’s a lot to love about this look. The sheer fabric of the dress, the dramatic print, and the way the cape flowed with every step Andra took were all pure magic.
But as my eyes drifted lower, they were met with the distraction of the pink underwear.
It’s a simple styling choice that could have easily been remedied. A skin-toned seamless bodysuit, for instance, would have been perfect, allowing the beauty of the dress to shine without interruption. It’s a small detail, but one that could have made a world of difference.
However, despite this minor setback, I still find myself inexplicably drawn to this look like a moth to a flame. There’s something undeniably captivating about it. Andra exudes confidence and elegance, even in the face of this daring fashion choice. She looks so beautiful here, with her glowing skin, and an aura that commands attention.
It’s bold, memorable, and maybe that’s enough for now.
