Blake Lively Wore Atelier Versace To The Copenhagen Premiere Of 'It Ends With Us'

Having assumed that Blake Lively’s press tour for ‘It Ends With Us’ wrapped up with the film’s worldwide release on Friday, it came as a surprise when Blake made an unexpected stop in Denmark for the Copenhagen premiere.

In London, Blake dazzled in a breathtaking Tamara Ralph Couture ensemble that had many declaring it as one of the best looks of the year. But this Atelier Versace Spring 2018 gown didn’t live up the high expectations we have set for the actress.

The gown, while undeniably stunning with its whimsical and fairy-tale-like qualities, seemed out of place for this particular occasion. It’s a piece that would be perfect for a Disney premiere or a fantasy-themed event—perhaps better suited to Rachel Zegler’s ‘Snow White’ upcoming press tour or one of Sofia Carson’s ethereal performances.

This Atelier Versace creation first graced the red carpet on Chinese singer-actress Guan Xiaotong at the ‘Pain and Glory’ premiere during the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. On Guan Xiaotong, the gown made perfect sense, blending seamlessly with the glamour of Cannes and the actress’s own style. The styling was impeccable, and the gown felt fresh.

Blake’s choice to recycle this particular gown for the Copenhagen premiere, however, seemed to lack the same coherence. The styling didn’t quite gel with the gown or the momentum Blake was building throughout her press tour. As much as some of us adore Blake’s bold and adventurous fashion sense, this look unfortunately felt like a step back to square one.

Fashion is all about risks, and Blake Lively is certainly no stranger to taking them. But for this particular stop on her press tour, the fairy-tale magic didn’t work, leaving me yearning for the impeccable elegance she had shown just days before in London.
