Cailee Spaeny attended the press panel for her upcoming film, ‘Alien: Romulus,’ held during Comic-Con in San Diego, California.
Known for her love of dainty Miu Miu, Cailee surprised me by opting for something with a bit more edge this time – perfect for the films genre – wearing a black knit dress from Acne Studios’ Fall 2024 collection, which had been specially customised.
The original runway version of the dress featured more length, bolder neckline, shoulder detail and intricate ruching at the waist, but Cailee’s version was shortened, the accents were lessened and the ruching was removed, giving it a sleeker, more streamlined appearance.
Considering Cailee’s petite stature, the modifications were a smart choice. Without them, there was a significant risk that the original design could overwhelm her frame with excessive fabric.
It’s not uncommon for some stylists to pull a runway look without considering the fit and proportions for their client, which can often result in a less than flattering appearance. Therefore, it’s commendable to see Cailee’s stylist making a concerted effort, ensuring the dress was tailored perfectly.
Cailee’s appearance at Comic-Con not only promoted her upcoming film, but also gave us a glimpse into what could be her evolving style.
