The Venice Film Festival is no stranger to grand premieres, but this year, we witnessed something a little different—a second premiere for Cate Blanchett’s new series, ‘Disclaimer’.
Why is this notable? Because not only is it rare for a series to have multiple premieres at such a prestigious event, but it also speaks volumes about the allure of the show and its leading lady.
‘Disclaimer’ is a limited series that had its first four episodes premiere on Thursday afternoon. This afternoon, the last three episodes were unveiled, essentially granting the series a second premiere. This approach is unusual but not unwelcome. It allows the audience to digest the narrative in segments, creating anticipation and conversation in between. For those of us eager to see how the storyline unfolds, the staggered premieres are a clever way to keep viewers engaged and guessing.
But let’s be honest—while the double premiere is a treat for the storyline enthusiasts, many eyes were also on Cate Blanchett, and she did not disappoint.
At the second premiere, she graced the red carpet in a custom Louis Vuitton ensemble featuring a beautifully embroidered silk and tulle cape, a silk cady bustier, and a long high-waist skirt.
There might be some divide on the cape—some may have preferred a cleaner, cape-less look. But after two premieres with relatively subdued outfits, the cape adds a dash of flair. This look is an intriguing dance between minimalism and opulence, much like the themes of the series itself.
This time around, Cate traded her beloved pearls for Louis Vuitton Fine Jewelry diamonds, including a Mini Malle High Jewelry ring set that perfectly complemented her look, along with some shades.
