In a historic moment that bridged two iconic cities, the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games saw the US national anthem performed by the Grammy-winning artist H.E.R.
The event, held at the majestic Stade de France on Sunday, marked the official handover of the Olympic Games from Paris—the City of Light—to Los Angeles, the City of Angels, which will host the Games in 2028.
H.E.R., a singer celebrated for her emotionally charged ballads, incredible vocal range, and retro-inspired style, delivered a spellbinding rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ that captivated the global audience. Known for her ability to infuse deep emotion into her performances, H.E.R. once again showcased her unmatched vocal prowess, making the anthem both powerful and poignant.
For the occasion, H.E.R. donned a sleek, custom-made Ralph Lauren Collection jumpsuit, awash in tonal sequins that shimmered under the stadium lights. The outfit was a perfect reflection of her signature style—striking, with a nod to the retro influences that have long inspired her. The white jumpsuit, with its clean lines and dazzling finish, amplified the grandeur of the moment, as H.E.R. stood as a beacon of grace and strength on the global stage.
No H.E.R. look would be complete without her signature shades, which she paired with a stunning selection of Chopard jewels, adding a touch of timeless glamour to her ensemble.
As Paris bid adieu to the Olympic Games, H.E.R.’s performance served as a beautiful and symbolic passing of the torch, embodying the spirit of unity, excellence, and artistry that defines the Olympic Games. With the baton now handed over to Los Angeles, the world eagerly anticipates what the City of Angels will bring to the Olympic stage in 2028. One thing we know for sure, it will be a star studded occasion.
