Willa Bennett Named Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan and Seventeen Magazine

Hearst Magazines announced Tuesday that Willa Bennett would succeed Jessica Giles as editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine. Bennett will also assume the top editor role at teen magazine Seventeen.

In this role, Bennett will oversee the publications’ content strategy and editorial direction across print, digital, social media and video mediums. Bennett joins Hearst from Highsnobiety, the Zalando-owned streetwear and youth culture media entity, where as editor-in-chief, she expanded its audience and grew its e-commerce revenue. She also previously held roles at GQ magazine and Bustle Digital Group.

”Willa’s innovative vision and keen editorial instinct will play a crucial role in the evolution of Cosmopolitan and Seventeen,” said Ronak Patel, general manager of Hearst Magazines’ Lifestyle Group, in a statement.

Bennett will assume the position starting Sept. 16 with her first print issue publishing in early 2025.
