For Ryder’s part, her custom Chanel seemed to take inspiration from her Beetlejuice character’s black dress, as well as the suits Beetlejuice himself is constantly dressed in. Ryder’s ensemble featured a three-piece suit on top, with a waistcoat and cropped blazer layered over a tuxedo shirt embellished with a bow ascot. But instead of trousers, Ryder wore a full, black tulle skirt that mirrored her costar’s red version. The actors even styled their hair similarly, with Ryder’s topknot complementing Ortega’s low bun.
If you couldn’t already tell, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega really seemed to bond on the set of Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. “She was so warm and welcoming and kind and inviting right from the jump, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” Ortega said of Ryder on the New York Times podcast The Interview. “The way Winona and I got along was quite weird. It was like we were reading each other’s minds a little bit.”
If I was going to believe that anyone could develop psychic powers while working together, it would be these two.
