Angelina Jolie is not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom—so cool, in fact, that she and her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne have matching tattoos.
Earlier this summer, Jolie revealed a new tattoo featuring a famous quote from The Outsiders, the Broadway musical she produced based on the famous book by S.E. Hinton. On opening night in April, the 49-year-old actor revealed a “Stay Gold” tattoo in reference to one of the songs from the show. Now, it turns out that Jolie shares the tattoo with her assistant on the project—who just so happens to be her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne.
“I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with The Outsiders,” Jolie told CR Fashion Book. “It means so much to us separately and together.”
Vivienne, of course, joined Jolie on opening night of The Outsiders, dressing on-theme in a navy utilitarian jumpsuit and converse. A couple months later, Vivienne attended the Tony Awards, matching Jolie’s velvet gown in a teal suit, bowtie, and crisp white dress shirt. That evening, her mom debuted yet another tattoo, revealing a small golden bird on her chest.
Angelina Jolie shares six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, 23; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. During her interview with CR Fashion Book, the actor revealed she shares a bird tattoo with “some” of her kids, noting the meaning behind the ink is “personal to us.”
