Anitta continues to dominate both the charts and the red carpet, and last night’s 2024 MTV Video Music Awards was no exception. The Brazilian sensation snagged the Best Latin award for her hit “Mil Veces” and was also up for Best Editing, proving her continued influence in both music and visual storytelling.
Anitta graced the red carpet in a custom, lingerie-inspired white ensemble by Dolce & Gabbana, complete with a matching sheer veil that brought some major bridal vibes.
True to her signature sultry style, this wasn’t your typical wedding look. Anitta transformed the idea of a traditional bridal gown into something daring and bold.
She skipped the “something old and something blue” and opted for a lace-up dress paired with hold ups that added to the sensual edge. The matching chiffon train and veil also added drama, while the silver Dolce & Gabbana sandals and dazzling diamond jewelry from Anabela Chan and Suzanne Kalan elevated the ensemble even further.
While the lingerie-inspired aesthetic is nothing new for the star, the bridal twist was, which was perfect for the VMAs, where pushing boundaries is practically a requirement.
I looked up bridal moments at the VMAs, and I’m not sure if this is a homage to Madonna’s 1984 ‘Like a Virgin’ moment, or the 2003 Britney, Madonna kiss moment.
