Redemption in Christian Siriano

After taking a bold risk for the ‘Only Murders In The Building’ LA premiere in Mugler, Da’Vine Joy Randolph has redeemed herself in stunning fashion. Her shimmering, draped, and corseted gown by Christian Siriano was a showstopper. This elegant and refined look is definitely one of her best this year, proving that when she hits her stride, she does so with style and grace.

Holiday Glam

Some of you might be looking at Ariana Debose in this Kenneth Cole burgundy suit from the labels Holiday 2024 Collection, and wonder if she was at the same event as Brie Larson: she was.  Personally, I am just grateful for this current style trajectory, and I’m glad no taffeta was involved here. This was another win for Ariana, even if I believe that she should have opted out of the top necklace.  An OMEGA timepiece and Kenneth Cole Nova Suede pumps completed her look.

An Autumnal Goddess

Angela Bassett, one of Hollywood’s true queens, embodied the upcoming season in a stunning Naeem Khan gown, adorned with colourful autumnal sequins. Winning the Emmy for Outstanding Narrator, Angela matched her award-winning stature with a dress that exuded elegance and regality. Every detail, from the sequins to the silhouette, was perfect.

Simple Elegance

Awkwafina, after receiving the award for Outstanding Television Movie for ‘Quiz Lady’, brought a subtle yet chic presence to the red carpet in a simple Staud red gown. The understated design may have been a safer choice, but it worked for the occasion. A small nitpick is the gown’s slightly too-long hemline, but Awkwafina still shone in her moment of celebration.

Avant-Garde Drama

Devery Jacobs didn’t just arrive—she made a statement. Her Palmer//Harding jacket with flounces outlining the neckline, shoulders, and sleeves was pure avant-garde fashion. The jacket created drama and movement, but the length of the Kilian Kerner trousers distracted slightly. Still, Devery’s risk paid off.

Timeless Elegance

Kristen Wiig embraced timeless elegance with a Prada dress in emerald green velvet. The geometric basque and pressed pleating made the gown stand out, enhancing the luminous fabric that created a refined, sleek, and sophisticated silhouette.

Simply Chic in Chloé

Maya Rudolph, a veteran Emmy winner, made her sixth win look effortless in a minimalist Chloé gown. Though it closely resembled Jennifer Lopez’s Chloé dress from at the Toronto Film Festival, Maya’s version appeared more flattering. The simplicity of her look allowed her win for voice-over work in ‘Big Mouth’ to take center stage.

Playful Elegance

Parker Posey embraced whimsical elegance in an Oscar de la Renta strapless gown printed with poppies and a floor-sweeping train. While the dress itself was a beautiful piece, the overall styling felt uncertain. Parker’s look begged the question of whether this was meant to be taken seriously or if it was a playful nod to her signature quirky style. Either way, it left an impression.

Overwhelmed in Simone Rocha

Sarah Paulson’s Simone Rocha dress, previously worn by Kirsten Dunst at Wimbledon, seemed to get lost in translation. The oversized fit made it difficult for Sarah to carry the look, though her accessorising with a Roger Vivier mini bag and Anabela Chan earrings was on point. Unfortunately, the dress felt overwhelming, leaving something to be desired in terms of fit and proportion.
