Margaret Qualley embraces Balletcore in Chanel at ‘The Substance’ premiere

Margaret Qualley graced the red carpet alongside Demi Moore for ‘The Substance’ premiere at the Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles, continuing to embrace her “ballet era” last seen at the VMAs.

This time, the actress donned a multi-coloured, open-back silk tulle dress from Chanel’s Spring 2024 Haute Couture collection, leaning into an ethereal, ballerina-inspired aesthetic.

I can already sense the collective eye-roll at yet another balletcore moment, but there’s something undeniably captivating about this look. The bodice, entirely embroidered with illusion draping, is a technical marvel that highlights Chanel’s craftsmanship. Then there is the skirt which brings a sense of lightness and movement to the gown, almost as if she’s floating.

What really caught my attention, however, were the Chanel pink sandals. We all know Chanel isn’t typically known for serving impressive footwear on the red carpet, but here, the brand made a thoughtful connection by tying the pink tulle accents in the skirt to the shoes. It’s a subtle detail that helps the look feel cohesive.
