Tennis skirts may have surged in popularity after Challengers, but if NYFW SS25 is any indication, the new preppy athletic-inspired trends pull from their water-based sport counterparts. See Tory Burch’s swimming pool presentation (above), Tommy Hilfiger’s sailor stripes, Taottao’s office-meets-beach collection (above), Sperry’s boat shoe appearances on the runways of Collina Strada and Monse (also above), and all the nautical colour combinations throughout the week. To shop, try these. No glove, no love

Opera gloves are here to stay and we’re happy to hear it. In addition to forcing their wearer to take a screen break (no matter how “text friendly” the material is, let’s face it, nobody has quite cracked the code there), these styles provide a perfect and easy elevation to any look. Go for a classic white like Luar, let them be a pop of colour like Wiederhoeft, or go full leather like Who Decides War. Hardware works too hard

Let’s give hardware a break from its usual purpose-led duties and let it shine as decorative embellishments instead. See AREA’s striking inclusion of metal details and Ronald van der Kemp’s playful over-the-top look. This one is a bit more about the styling than the shopping, but these are a few pieces we’d recommend to get the look.
