Our favourite TV lawyers came together in a moment of pure class and charisma at the 2024 Emmys, where they presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Viola Davis, Christine Baranski, and Gina Torres—known for their iconic roles as Annalise Keating (‘How to Get Away with Murder’), Diane Lockhart (‘The Good Wife’ and ‘The Good Fight’), and Jessica Pearson (‘Suits’ and ‘Pearson’)—brought not only their legal smarts but also their impeccable fashion sense to the red carpet.
Elegance Personified
Viola Davis radiated timeless sophistication in a custom Zuhair Murad black and white cross-front draped silk chiffon halter gown. While the design was undeniably striking, I couldn’t help but imagine how a slight tweak would have made this look even more breathtaking. If the white portion of the dress had been black with onyx crystals, it would have given the ensemble a stunning, cohesive depth that could have elevated it further.
That said, Viola still looked effortlessly regal, and her Buccellati jewelry, including the Étoilée pendant earrings in 18k yellow and white gold, completed the look with a touch of sparkle.

A Golden Goddess
Christine Baranski was nothing short of presidential in a custom Oscar de la Renta off-shoulder gold metal organza dress, inspired by the Spring 2025 collection. The shimmering gold hue made her stand out as the golden girl of the night, and the structured silhouette added a commanding presence. To me, this gown exudes an White House-worthy elegance: Madame President has a nice ring to it.
Fred Leighton vintage jewelry, including 1960s gold and diamond leaf earrings by Pierre Sterlé and a 1950s emerald bead, diamond, and gold cuff by Suzanne Belperron, added to the classic allure of the look. The red Roger Vivier pumps were a bold choice, and while they didn’t jar me, I think a red accent in the dress would have tied it all together more seamlessly.

Electrifying in hot pink
For me, Jessica Pearson remains one of the most stylish women in TV history, so seeing Gina Torres take the red carpet was a real treat. She stunned in an hot pink Rhea Costa one-shoulder draped gown that was both flattering and bold. The vibrant colour perfectly highlighted her radiant skin tone, while the sleek draping showcased her figure effortlessly.
Her hairstyle, which felt like a nod to her Cuban American heritage, added an extra layer of personal flair, and the jewels complemented the gown without overshadowing it.
I love how these three legal powerhouses showcased their unique personal style while staying true to the elegance we’ve come to expect from them. Whether you’re drawn to Viola’s timeless grace, Christine’s regal presence, or Gina’s electrifying boldness, these TV lawyers prove that they are fashionable both on and off screen.
