Amanda Seyfried

Today in the return of Y2K fashion, Amanda Seyfried was photographed attending the Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit for Chanel in New York City sporting a pin-straight hairstyle and heavy black eyeliner fit for pop punk princess of the early aughts. All she needs is a tie and maybe some Converse and she’d be a dead ringer for “S8er Boi” era Avril Lavigne. And let me tell ya, it’s working for her.

Just like Lavigne, Seyfried’s blonde, flat-ironed hair is parted in the center to better show off the face-framing layers. That, plus the choice of pants rather than a skirt is giving Seyfried a low-grade punk vibe.

Seyfried did not wear a tie to the fancy benefit, instead she wore a two-piece black silk Chanel look. The top was a sleeveless, button-down tunic with a sheer, wide hem embellished with sparkly beads, which she wore over a pair of ankle-length, wide-legged trousers in the same black silk fabric. And yes, she is wearing the Chanel boots—which feature a chunky heel adorned with the Chanel logo. Aside from the bright red lip, the only pop of color in Seyfried’s look was her purple beaded bag, which I need in my closet immediately.
