Amy Adams graced the red carpet at the ‘Nightbitch’ Headline Gala during the London Film Festival on Wednesday, showcasing a familiar yet refined aesthetic. Two things were immediately clear about her press tour so far: she’s sticking to a safe style formula, and her statement jewelry is doing all of the heavy lifting.
For this event, Amy opted for a Prada strapless black double satin dress. While it features a multilayered train, the dress ultimately feels restrained. The silhouette, while elegant, doesn’t fill me with any excitement. This is a polished, no-risk option, suggesting that Amy is in a bit of a comfort zone, particularly in terms of colour.
However, where the dress does excite, the accessories step up. Her Pomellato jewelry from the Iconica collection—bold necklace, sophisticated earrings and a matching ring—provided the pop that this look desperately needed. The statement pieces add an element of glamour, drawing attention back to Amy where the simplicity of the dress might not. Without them, the look could easily have faded into the background.
This isn’t to say that Amy doesn’t look good. She wears the Prada dress well, and it’s always nice to see her in something classic. But the real story here is her reliance on powerful accessories to elevate what could have been an otherwise understated ensemble.
It would be nice to see her step out of this sartorial comfort zone, experimenting with either colour or a more adventurous silhouette, but for now, her jewelry choices are keeping things interesting.
