A Burgundy Vision of Elegance
Uma Thurman, muse of Quentin Tarantino who was honoured at the event, was in the spotlight herself wearing this custom Fendi Couture gown which did not disappoint. The rich burgundy hue of her sculptural silk duchesse dress was a masterstroke of elegance.
You may remember that the green runway version worn by Princess Eugenie of York at the Vogue World Party last year, but Uma’s deep, regal burgundy version was so right for the current season. Ana Khouri jewelry and Manolo Blahnik shoes completed her look. This was Uma embracing timeless glamour with an artful twist—an absolute win for Fendi.
Bold in Orange, Subdued in Impact
Sofia Richie Grainge took a different path, opting for a bold orange Fendi Spring 2024 dress. The vibrant colour was the standout element, along with the simplicity of the design. It’s a shame the fabric didn’t hold up.
Ivory Tux Misses the Mark
Danny Ramirez’s Fendi Men’s ivory tuxedo attempted to channel the timeless appeal of a formal ivory suit, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark. While ivory tuxedos have made red carpet waves—most notably at the 2022 Emmys—Danny’s version felt dated and poorly executed.
The fit, in particular, seemed off, with the jacket and trousers lacking the sharpness that’s essential for a formal look to really work. The combination of the ivory tux with black shoes only emphasized the awkwardness of the styling which felt heavy with the waistcoat. Overall, this Fendi look didn’t feel tailored to Danny’s strengths, making it a rare misstep for the usually polished star.
