Jonathan Anderson dressed five celebrities in Loewe designs that pushed the boundaries of traditional red carpet attire for the 2024 Academy Museum Gala. With statement silhouettes, the challenge lies in how well they translate beyond the runway.
Victorian Elegance with a Modern Twist
Statement silhouettes can be tricky when it comes to them translating them on the red carpet, and especially when they have been worn before. I will say that Gal Gadot’s outing in this Victorian lampshade silhouette floral dress from the Loewe Spring 2025 collection was far more successful than Ayo Edebiri at the BoF 500 Class of 2024 event last month. Her mint green embellished Loewe Toy pumps were complemented by her platinum with green tourmalines Tiffany necklace, Tiffany diamond earrings and Tiffany & Co. Archives bracelet with diamonds and emeralds.

Feathers and Florals Unite
Global brand ambassador Greta Lee delivered yet another memorable look in a feathered Loewe dress featuring a floral print from the Spring 2025 collection. The dramatic design was enhanced by Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Ribbon ear clips and a striking Tsavorite ring, bringing a sense of playful sophistication to the red carpet. Greta’s commitment to Loewe’s avant-garde spirit is always refreshing and never disappoints.

Embracing Complexity
Meg Ryan didn’t shy away from the Loewe Spring 2025 floral statement pieces, which I would say paid off in her favour considering the complexity of the silhouette.

Draped with a Twist
I know that you are all looking at Archie Madekwe in this custom Loewe look and wondering why the Loewe patch? And I would agree. I wish it was tonal. Looking beyond the patch, I actually want a pair of these draped trousers for myself, as I prefer them in satin over the leather trousers we saw on the runway.

Modern Tailoring with a Classic Touch
Drew Starkey opted for a custom Loewe suit that mirrored the style of the green suit he wore to the ‘Queer’ London screening last week. This navy version was set apart by a crisp white shirt and a stunning sapphire and diamond Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock brooch. Completed with T1 earrings, a ring, and a Tiffany East West® watch, Drew’s look exemplified modern tailoring with a touch of classic elegance.
