As part of the host committee for the 2024 Academy Museum Gala, Louis Vuitton dressed more celebrities than any other label, showcasing its cutting-edge designs on a star-studded red carpet. From balloon shapes, architectural details and other avant-garde pieces, LV reigned supreme.
Backless and Bold
Saoirse Ronan continued her impeccable Louis Vuitton streak with a backless black gown featuring a stunning origami pleated top. The simplicity of the gown’s shape married beautifully with the complexity of the bodice, making this one of the night’s best looks. Ana Khouri earrings completed her chic ensemble.

Best in Bubble Hem
Anna Sawai’s Louis Vuitton black silk taffeta cropped top with a balloon sleeve and low-rise skirt was the most successful reimagining of the bubble hem trend. The asymmetry and dramatic sleeve added an air of fashion-forward elegance that was both refreshing and bold. Cartier jewels completed her look.

Missed the Mark
While Devon Ross opted for a peacock blue silk taffeta pleated cut-out Louis Vuitton gown, the look didn’t quite come to life. The structure was there, but the energy was not, making this one of the less impactful appearances of the evening.
Double Balloon Drama
Hannah Einbinder made the most of a tricky silhouette in her charcoal grey silk faille bustier Louis Vuitton gown with a double balloon skirt. Paired with Louis Vuitton grey satin pumps and La Star du Nord diamond earrings, she brought grace and poise, elevating the dramatic look with ease.

If It Ain’t Broke…
Da’Vine Joy Randolph continued her signature Louis Vuitton style in a pink off-shoulder silk gown with a 3D pleated skirt. While reminiscent of a previous black-and-white dress she wore to the label’s Spring 2025 show earlier month, this version felt softer, balancing the structured pleats with a gentler, tonal colour palette.

Tulip Elegance
Renate Reinsve opted for sculptural beauty in a beige silk duchesse satin Louis Vuitton gown resembling a tulip in bloom. The trompe l’oeil wrap design, paired with beige silk pumps and a Louis Vuitton Phenomenal watch set, was both breathtaking and striking.

Green Overload
Cynthia Erivo’s pre-‘Wicked’ press tour in green continued with a silk double satin embroidered bustier Louis Vuitton gown featuring a sculptural skirt. Styled with green satin pumps, a green manicure, and green eye makeup, the look was cohesive but felt repetitive. By the time her press tour officially kicks off, many may already be fatigued by this all-green theme—if they aren’t already.

Struggled to Impress
Danielle Haim’s pastel blue silk pleated cape lacked the effortless fluidity seen in other looks. Standing next to her sister, Este Haim, in a terracotta silk crêpe Louis Vuitton gown, the pleated cape appeared overwhelming, so neither look really worked for me.

Jaden Smith took Louis Vuitton’s embroidered black suit to the next level by adding a white ruffled high-neck shirt, offering a blend of classic tailoring and youthful flair.
Shimmered, but…
Mikey Madison’s Louis Vuitton embroidered silver slip dress didn’t command the attention that some of the more architectural looks did. While beautiful, it kinda faded into the background for me.
