Cynthia Erivo joined co-star Ariana Grande at the special screening of ‘Wicked’ at the DGA Theater in New York City on Monday night.
Cynthia’s outfit brought a delightful sense of déjà vu, as she wore a vibrant Louis Vuitton coat that made a splash at the 2020 Oscars Nominees Luncheon.
At the luncheon, the coat itself was the statement—styled to resemble a chic dress and standing as the focal point of her look. However, this time Cynthia reinterpreted it as a bold layering piece, grounding the outfit in understated staples: a crisp white t-shirt and jeans. The effect was casual yet striking, showcasing the coat’s versatility in both high-profile and relaxed settings.
In true homage to Elphaba, Cynthia accessorized with green pumps adding just the right dose of whimsy to an already charming outfit, and a Tiffany & Co. necklace gold and jade green necklace—also worn to the CFDA Fashion Awards—was the final touch, bringing a bit of sparkle to her laid-back ensemble.
I love that Cynthia revisited this coat, and by styling it so differently, highlights a talent for reinventing high-fashion pieces we were not aware of.
