Dan Levy’s style journey over the past few years has been nothing short of fascinating. For those who may have missed his gradual shift, his Ben Cobb for Tiger of Sweden suit at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday will certainly catch your attention.
Dan has moved away from the extravagant ensembles that made him a style standout in 2020 and now favours a more refined, effortless form of tailoring.
This particular look embodies old-school elegance mixed with modern touches. The wide lapels and structured shoulders lend a sense of vintage sophistication, while the addition of a polka dot tie adds a playful element that makes the ensemble feel fresh. It’s clear that his stylist, Harry Lambert, was in the mood for bold prints, as Eddie Redmayne also embraced polka dots at this event.
While the overall suit exudes an easy, laid-back charm, the length of the trousers might throw some of you off. The deliberate choice for longer pants is evident from how they drape, but a slightly shorter cut would have been preferred. Nevertheless, Dan’s commitment to this style direction gives him an air of confidence and polish.
The Santoni black shoes rounded out the ensemble, ensuring the look remained grounded in classic menswear while still making a modern statement. This look marks another step in Dan Levy’s ongoing style transformation, one that continues to evolve.
