Eddie Redmayne attended Peacock’s New York premiere of ‘The Day of the Jackal’ on Thursday, held at the Walter Reade Theater, and his choice of attire was both a surprise and a nod to his fashion evolution.
While Eddie was once synonymous with Alexander McQueen, the actor has recently been experimenting with different designers, notably Steve O Smith. However, for this occasion, he wore a label I don’t ever recall him wearing before: Dolce & Gabbana.
Opting for a black double-breasted suit from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2025 collection, Eddie balanced modern flair with a touch of nautical-inspired elegance. The standout feature of his ensemble? A white linen shirt with a sailor collar, adding a dash of whimsy to an otherwise formal look. Given the recent resurgence of this collar, with Pedro Pascal sporting a similar style this week, it seems like this detail might become a trend to watch.
As for the sailor collar itself? It’s a refreshing twist, offering a playful departure from the typical shirt-and-tie combo while still feeling refined. Eddie’s ensemble is a masterclass in how to update a classic with subtle, stylish flourishes—further proof that the actor is embracing a new chapter in his sartorial journey.
