Eddie Redmayne made yet another style statement at the London premiere of ‘The Day Of The Jackal’, joining co-star Lashana Lynch at Queen Elizabeth Hall on Monday.
This might seem like a bold statement considering how flawless the likes of Matt Bomer and Colman Domingo have been this year, but, not one does it better than Eddie Redmayne, as he once again, proved that when it comes to red carpet excellence, he is in a league of his own.
What sets Eddie apart is not just his consistency, but the range he displays with each appearance. His latest look, a tonal grey and light mauve suit from the Saint Laurent Fall 2024 collection, exemplified the effortless sophistication we’ve come to expect.
The subtle interplay of muted tones, soft tailoring, and modern flair was, for me, even more impressive than his recent Valentino look at the Academy Museum Gala. But I’ll admit, recency bias could be influencing my judgment.
What’s particularly exciting about Eddie’s current style phase is his willingness to experiment, as this period of him stepping outside familiar territories—trying new labels, silhouettes, and looks—has injected fresh energy into his fashion journey. He was never predictable, but the level of unpredictability has increased 10-fold, as I’m even more eager to see what he’ll deliver next.
Eddie’s ability to strike the perfect balance between classic and contemporary fashion makes him a standout. This Saint Laurent look, with its clean lines and nuanced colour palette, is another example of his trend-setting abilities.
